Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australian women.
Everyday in Australia, over 40 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 7 lose their fight against the disease. Though the numbers are far fewer, men are also diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
A guest speaker and campaign ambassador for BCNA: Sonja related her personal experience with Breast Cancer and encouraged others to do the same. Sonja is a mother of three living with metastatic breast cancer. She was diagnosed with liver metastasis just over 12 months ago, only 3 months post completing treatment for early diagnosed stage 1 grade 3 breast cancer.
Fear of the cancer spreading further, an inability to now work due to side effects from treatment, and day to day struggles from side effects are just a few of the issues she now faces every day.
Vic Mix, as an ongoing supporter of BCNA (Breast Cancer Network Australia), contributed to the annual Pink Socks DLSOCFC (De La Salle Old Collegians Amateur Football Club) Home Game Sponsors Lunch on Saturday 8th May 2021 at Bert Healy Pavilion, Waverley Oval, Cnr Malvern Rd and Waverley Rd, East Malvern.
A great time was had by all and the De La Salle Football Club went home boasting “Champion for the Day” - Pink socks & trucks grabbing a lot of attention from onlookers and well wishers.
De La Salle - Champion for the day!
