Vic Mix Mornington Construction well underway!
Construction of the new plant commenced in October 2017 after taking over the site at 12 Watt Road, Mornington from the previous occupant - Mornington Garden Supplies.
The existing office building is to be extensively renovated to accommodate the needs and activities of a pre-mixed concrete operation. The remainder of the site was cleared, with extensive demolition of old infrastructure to make way for a brand new concrete plant.
The Plant will be state-of-the-art and modelled on the Vic Mix Coburg Plant that has been in operation since late 2014 boasting computerised systems that optimise speed, accuracy of production, and other operating efficiencies. Like Coburg, the new Mornington Plant is also designed, fabricated, and erected by P&P Products from their fabrication yard in Tooradin.
Like other Vic Mix Operations, the new Plant will be fully automatic producing general production concretes of all types. Of course, more complex mixes (such as: Decorative Concrete) are also catered for with specialised weigh bins and static ground bins for control of decorative aggregates.
It is hoped that the Plant will be operational as soon as possible and before the end of the year.
